Can I make tortilla sopaipillas using peanut oil?

I remember making them in middle school Spanish cl, and I'd like to make some now. I've got vegetable oil and peanut oil (and maybe olive oil too). There's already peanut oil in the deep fryer, but it's been used to cook chicken. What's the best route here? I'm pretty kitchen-illiterate.
