Fleas are overtaking my house!?

Our cats love to go outside and since they live inside this is creating a major flea problem. I've heard we can spray the yard, but we have seven acres. If we put Advantage or Frontline on the cats will it keep the fleas away even though they still go outside? We've tried bombing and washing bedding but nothing seems to work! Please help!
