New poll says President Obama's popularity is holding steady. Why do you think that is?

Yes, Americans are unhappy with the economy, congress, and the govt. But most don't necessarily think that Obama is the key to this unhapiness. In fact, even if McCain was in office few americans polled thought there would be any improvement, many thought it would be worst. So the reality the GOP has to work with is not blamig obama like Kerry blamed Bush but of finding a candidate that can do better.
