It’s warm here today, but aren’t we were supposed to be heading into an ice age?

I live in Manitoba. The long term average daily high and low for January are -13 C and -22 C, respectively. The only evidence of an ice age I saw today was snow melting on the highway during the afternoon which turned to ice in the evening. Snow does not usually melt until March or April in this part of the world. The period of the new ice age is approximately 12 hours. For a bacterium 12 hours can be 40 generations. Were the self-proclaimed climate experts bacteria?
