Is an ATX12v power supply suitable to replace a standard ATX power supply?

I just bought a new power supply to replace my old one in my Dell Dimension 2400 (Yes, old). As far as I can tell the old power supply is Standard ATX. When shopping for a new power supply I bought one that was ATX12V. The PSUs are exactly the same shape and the new one can fit into my case and all the connectors I need are there. Is an ATX12V v2.3 able to replace a standard ATX PSU without damaging anything? Thanks
