I think it would be neat to have an underwater version of the International Space Station. You could anchor it in an interesting area and do a lot more exploring. Then you could move it to another location. It could be a whole habitat where scientists could work and live for maybe a month at a time. It should have its own fleet of Alvin like explorers, humans and robotics. You could build enough of the habitats to study around the world. I am sure you would make discoveries that we have no idea even exist.
